Microsoft Unveils Internet Explorer 3.0, First

At the world's largest conference on Internet development, Microsoft
outlined Internet Explorer 3.0, the first Internet client to integrate
Microsoft's ActiveX(TM) Technologies, the new generation of open
technologies that let developers create highly interactive Internet
applications and content. With Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0,
developers, content authors, IS professionals and end users reap the
benefits of support for such Internet technologies as Frames, the Java
language, style sheets and JavaScript, with extensions for the new
ActiveX(TM) Technologies. Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 has an open
framework--supported by more than 100 companies--as well as
cross-platform functionality support and a flexible component
architecture.
